Seed treatments

Professional seed treatment — applied to the highest standards.

All Syngenta Seedcare™ cotton seed treatments are professionally applied to Syngenta Seedcare and Biologicals Institute™ standards, ensuring every seed receives a consistent, accurate dose. This eliminates on-farm mixing, planter downtime, and handling risks — your seed arrives ready to plant. Every treated bag also contributes to the FastStart™ R&D program, supporting ongoing research into improved cotton establishment across Australia.

Fungicide seed treatments

VIBRANCE® Complete (V2) — Most growers have already chosen VIBRANCE® Complete for the broadest fungicide protection available for Australian cotton. This five active ingredient combination, jointly developed by Syngenta and CSD under the FastStart™ program, adds targeted activity against black root rot and fusarium wilt to rhizoctonia and pythium protection. Field trials show a 27% improvement in plant stands over untreated seed, with faster emergence and reduced replant risk. When disease pressure is high and establishment is everything, choose V2.

VIBRANCE® CST (V) — The trusted baseline fungicide seed treatment for Australian cotton growers. Containing four active ingredients — Azoxystrobin, Metalaxyl-M, Fludioxonil and Sedaxane — it delivers reliable protection against key soil-borne diseases, rhizoctonia and pythium, during the critical germination and emergence period.

Insecticide seed treatments

CRUISER® 600FS (C) — The industry-standard insecticide seed treatment specifically developed for Australian planting conditions. The optimised formulation maximises application and seed adherence, delivering field performance without planter blockages or handling risks. Containing 600 g/L Thiamethoxam, this second-generation neonicotinoid delivers systemic control of sucking, chewing and soil-dwelling pests — including thrips, aphids and wireworms — from germination through to stand establishment.

CRUISER® Extreme (X) — For higher pest pressure environments, CRUISER® Extreme delivers extended, robust insect protection from planting through to stand establishment. Applied at double the rate of CRUISER® 600FS, it provides prolonged residual activity where wireworm, thrips or aphid populations are known to threaten early crop establishment.

The science of seedcare

Treated cotton seed at the Syngenta Seedcare facility

Successful crop production starts with seeds, the essence of life. Today's seeds offer a broad spectrum of varieties and traits that give undisputed advantages to growers. Seed breeders and growers invest significant amounts of money into these technologies. To best protect this investment while seed is exposed in soil to diseases, insect pests, nematodes or abiotic stresses (e.g. drought), seed treatments are critical to protect the genetic potential of high-value seeds.

To address these challenges, Syngenta Seedcare offers an industry-leading product portfolio based on its world-class research, product development and support capabilities. We call it a three-pillar offer — P.A.S. (Products – Application – Services) — which delivers value to our customers BEYOND SEED PROTECTION™.

1. Products — broad range and innovative pipeline

Our innovative product range features combinations of multiple active ingredients, addressing the needs of growers as well as seed companies, seed multipliers and retailers around the globe in all crops. Seeds and seed treatment technology come together before planting to form an integrated solution: early disease and pest protection, conveniently supplied in the seed bag, applied at low use rates, complementing the genetic resistance or tolerance against diseases and pests. This ensures a healthy, high-yielding plant while a targeted, low-rate application provides minimal environmental impact.

2. Application — in-depth advice and support in application technology

A treated seed is the combination of genetics and seed-applied technologies. Only a high-quality application onto the seed ensures the desired in-field performance, while the impact to the seed company's plant operations is kept minimal. Syngenta Seedcare has incorporated these needs into Seedcare-specific formulations and recommends customers with individual recipes that fulfil the highest quality standards. Seedcare helps customers assess and manage application quality, select the best application technology, provide seed biology and safety, conduct stewardship and training, and provide product marketing support.

3. Services — tailored, customer-centric product marketing services

The seed business is a very time-sensitive operation, allowing little time between harvest, processing and treatment. Hence, we provide flexibility to our customers in planning and procurement processes. Our supply chain is set up for in-season response to customer demands. We also provide agronomic know-how and co-marketing support to create demand for the brands and their value towards growers.
